Barbara Dale Fisher Antonietta
HYDE PARK, UTAH Barbara Dale Fisher Antonietta passed
away November 25, 2006 at her home in Hyde Park, Utah.
She was born September 5, 1938 to Robert and Icie Ruse
Fisher in Hickory, Pennsylvania, the first of four
children. Barbara graduated from Chartiers High
School.
On September 25, 1956, she married Pete Antonietta Jr.
in Washington, Pennsylvania. As a convert to the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, their
marriage was solemnized in the Washington D.C. Temple
April 14, 1995. They are the parents of three
daughters.
The couple made their home in Houston, Pennsylvania.
While raising her children, Barbara took on many
roles. She was a 4-H leader and Girl Scout leader. She
served as President of the CHHS Band Parent's
organization. Barbara also served on the Houston
Borough council from 1982- 1993. During this time, she
served as Vice President, President and was also
acting Mayor. She was a member of the Tri County
Boroughs Association where she also served as Vice
President. She taught microwave cooking and nutrition
classes at Allegheny Community College in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. She was also a regular feature in the
Canon newspaper with her Cooking with Microwaves
articles.
In November of 1996, Hyde Park, Utah became her home.
Barbara enjoyed cooking and loved to dance. She loved
to travel and spend time in the outdoors. She loved
being a wife and mother and had an abundance of love
for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband and caregiver
Pete, her daughters Theresa (John) Carl; Shelley,
Idaho; Eleshia (Cory) Watson; Felicia (Scott) Dixon;
Hyde Park, Utah; 15 grandchildren, Stephen, Katie and
Emily Carl; Shelley, Idaho; Pvt. Joseph Carl; Fort
Eustis, Virginia; Jackson and Malcolm; Derrick, Chloe,
and Connor; Megan, Joshua, Rachel, Sarah, Justin and
Rebecca Dixon; Hyde Park, Utah; one great
granddaughter Harlee Jo Carl. A sister, Dorothy
(Gerald) Rasel lives in Orlando, Florida.
Having always had a special love for children and a
desire for a large family, in recent years, another
"daughter", Alycemarie and her family became a special
part of Barbara's life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant
brother, Robert, and a sister Betty Devenney and an
infant grandchild Naomi.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 30, 2006
at 1:00 pm in the Hyde Park LDS Stake Center, 535 East
200 South. Friends and family may visit Wednesday
evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary,
1800 North 400 East and at the church on Thursday one
hour prior to services. Interment in the Hyde Park
Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
Allen Mortuaries.
