Charles Edward Dixon passed away September 30, 2005 at home in Logan Utah. He was 90 years old. He was born October 24, 1914 in Vincennes Indiana son of John Henry Dixon and Lula May Pelham. Charles spent his childhood in Indiana.

Following the death of his own mother in 1918 he spent several years, along with his sister Mary, in the care of their grandparents, and father. His father married Helen Agnes Edgar in the summer of 1921. Ivan, Jim, Carl, Mike, Pat and Betty were born into the family. During the Great Depression, Charles joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in April 1934, of which he was a member for almost 4 years. His service with the CCC’s took him to Fort Knox, Kentucky, Auburn California and eventually to Idaho, Wyoming and Cache Valley Utah.

Following his service in the CCC”s he returned to Indiana for a year with always a yearning to return to the Rockies. In May of 1938 he returned to Logan where he found work.

It was during that summer that he met June Elizabeth Abrams of College Ward Utah. They were married June 27th 1939 in the Logan Temple. They became the parents of 4 sons and 5 daughters: Richard Charles, Gordon Edward, Gary Dee, Randall Abrams, Debra Lou Thiemann and Kara Lynn Yost all of Pocatello. Maurine Jessop of Murray Utah and Elizabeth Ann Moore of Arimo Idaho.

Daphne June Yost died in a car accident in Italy in 1978.

Charles and his family lived in Logan until 1954 at which time they moved to Pocatello, Idaho where they resided until 1967.They had many wonderful friends and memories of their time on Cherry and Dogwood Streets.

Charles was a very hard working husband and father. His work as a mechanic with Continental Baking Company required a transfer back to Logan, Utah. On May 30, 1968 June died in a drowning accident in the Logan River.

On January 15, 1969 Charles married Myrtle Pehrson Bradshaw in the Logan Temple. Myrtle is the mother of George P. Bradshaw of Logan Utah. They have lived at their home in Logan for the past 38 years and have appreciated many wonderful friends and neighbors.

Charles has 48 Grandchildren and 88 Great- Grandchildren. He loved singing, playing his guitar and reading. He appreciated nature and the beauties of the earth. Charles was a positive influence to all those he met and was a friend to all.Allen Mortuaries.
