Clarence "Clair" Bradford Peterson
LOGAN, UTAH: Clarence "Clair" Bradford Peterson died
on February 8, 2007 at Logan Regional Hospital after a
courageous battle with cancer. He was the oldest son
of Neils
Rudolph Peterson and Mildred Jane Bradford and was
born October 28,1931 in Spanish Fork, Utah.
The family moved to Logan in 1936. He attended Logan
City Schools, Utah State University and the University
of Utah where he graduated in Pharmacy in 1960. He was
a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity at both schools.
While at USU he was Director of Athletic Publicity.
In 1957 he married Annette Bickmore Donavan. Clair is
survived by his wife
and two step-children Christine Donavan and John
William (Maurine) Donavan and four grandchildren:
Jordan William Donavan, Michelle (Jon) Raym, Kelley
(Jeremy) Howard, and Scott William (Mandy) Donavan;
five great-grandchildren and one sister Lois (David)
Salisbury.
He is preceeded in death by his parents,
a granddaughter, Jennifer Donavan, and two brothers
Neils Rudolph Peterson and Thomas Lewis Peterson.
Always interested in community affairs he served on
Logan City's Planning and Zoning Board for many years
and was Chairman of the Board for much of that time.
The Cache Valley Mall proposal was'approved by this
Board.
He was a devoted member of Rotary Club and served as
President in 1987. That year he attended an
International Rotary Convention in Munich, Germany. He
also served as President of the Homeowners Association
in Bear Lake. Clair was a member of the Logan Golf and
Country Club and was an avid golfer.
He was a member of the Logan Men's Club and a member
of two small dinner groups one of which met monthly
for over 40 years.
Clair owned and operated the Towne Pharmacy and the
Plaza Pharmacy, the latter for over 28 years. He was
very professional and innovative in his business and
served his patrons with genuine interest and a caring
heart.
He was a High Priest in the LDS Church, his latest
assignment being that of Ward Clerk.
Those who wish to honor him at his passing may attend
a viewing at Allen-Hall Mortuary on Sunday, February
11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be
Monday at 12:00 pm at the Lundstrom Park 3rd Ward
Church, 1260 North 1600 East with a viewing one hour
prior to services. Interment will be at the Logan City
Cemetery.
