Logan: Doreen Isabella Loosle Nelson, 85, passed away at Terrace Grove on February 22, 2006.

She was born on November 15, 1920, in Logan Utah. Doreen was the first of seven children born to William James Loosle and Margaret Campbell Paton Loosle. All of her siblings still survive. She married Henry Dean Nelson on January 18, 1945, in the Logan LDS Temple. She devoted her life to being a wife and mother.

She grew up in Clarkston and attended Cache County Schools. She enjoyed learning and continued her education, graduating from Utah Agricultural College in Business. She worked as a secretary for the AAA office in Logan before her marriage to Dean. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a member of the Bridgerland Park First Ward in the Logan Cache Stake. She was active in the Church throughout her life. She served in the Relief Society as a teacher and also as President in the Logan 9th Ward. She was also a teacher in various organizations in the church, as well as a being a visiting teacher.

Doreen loved to cross-stitch and do other handwork. She liked to travel and see new things and new places. She enjoyed attending church pageants with her husband, Dean. She liked being in the outdoors and appreciated all of God's creations. Doreen loved spending time with her family. Doreen especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were a great source of joy to her, especially later in her life.

Survivors include her children; Pauline (Jerry) Wuthrich, Logan, Geraldine (Don) Hancey, Wellsville, Annabel (Mike) Phillips, Smithfield, Garth (Patti) Nelson, Paradise, and Quinn (Jacque) Nelson, North Logan. Doreen has 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four sisters and two brothers: Betty (Glen) Hancey, North Logan, Margaret (Arnold) Dance, Blackfoot Idaho, Norma Wallentine, Hyde Park, Douglas (Marie) Loosle, Richfield Utah, Don (Betty Jean) Loosle, Wellsville, Bonnie (Elmer) Erickson, North Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, and son, Michael.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, February 27 in the Bridgerland Park First Ward Church. A visitation for friends and family will be from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Church. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
