Dorothy L. Leetzow
Dorothy L. Leetzow graduated from her earthly state
the afternoon of April 10, 2006.
Dorothy was born January 10, 1928 in Elgin, Illinois
to her parents, now deceased, Edward H. Kirk and Olive
Perkins Kirk. Her older brother, Edward H. Kirk, also
deceased, was raised with her in her Elgin home.
Dorothy met her husband Gale C. Leetzow while working
as an executive secretary to the chief engineer at
Flexonics Corp. in Elgin Illinois, the same person
Gale also worked with.
Dorothy and Gale married September 5, 1953 at a church
in Elgin and have enjoyed being together for the past
53 years.
April Sue came into their union October 25, 1960; Kirk
Leonard followed July 12, 1966. Dorothy continued her
employment through her relocation to Claremont,
California as executive secretary to Admiral Horn
stationed at General Dynamics in Pomona, California.
Upon the birth of April, Dorothy gave up her
employment to become a full time mother and homemaker
for her family.
Dorothy always had a beautiful smile and greeted each
day waking her children by opening the curtains of
their bedroom window with the greeting "Good morning
Merry Sunshine!"
Dorothy always supported her husband Gale, in every
way, making his life pleasant and productive so she
could ply her trade of mother and wife completely and
totally.
Her dedication to her family will continue to be with
her as she helps to prepare her husband, children,
grandchildren: Nathaniel, Joshua, Brittany, Landon and
Chandler and continuing posterity to our graduation in
joining her at a future time.
We miss having her with us in our continuing earthly
life. We know she is now with her first family who
have graduated before her. Dorothy is now without pain
and confusion; her mind clear and her body returning
to perfection.
What joy we will have in rejoining her in our eternal
family and dancing at our prom to the heavenly music
of Lawrence Welk, her favorite musician.
