Eliza W. Darley
LOGAN- Eliza W. Darley, 89, passed away Monday,
November 1,2005, from causes incident to age. She was
born September 4, 1916, in Lake Town, Utah, to Herbert
R. and Kanna Dunford Weston.
She married Joseph
Ritchie, July 8, 1936, in the Logan Temple, they were
later divorced. She married Percy N. Darley, March
11,1971, he preceded her in death in February, 1992.
Eliza was a member of the Logan Fifth LDS Ward. She
was a wonderful, hardworking mother, whose life was
centered around her family. She adored her children
and grandchildren and was proud of her parents and
siblings.
She was a great cook, and excelled at
needlework such as crocheting and knitting, constantly
sewing appreciated items for her immediate family
right up the her death. She loved to play bridge with
her many friends. Before marrying Perc she worked long
hours in local retail clothing stores to support her
family. She also worked as office manager for many
years in her family's flour and feed mill on Center
Street.
She is survived by one son, Joe H. Ritchie (Jean) Roy,
Utah, one daughter Karma Hedge, Las Vegas, Nevada, one
step-daughter Marilyn (Don) Zollinger, Chandler,
Arizona,4 grandchildren plus 6 step grandchildren, 12
great -grandchildren, plus step great-grandchildren, 1
great-great-grandchild, plus step
great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one
sister Venice Weston of Walnut Creek, California, and
one brother Todd Weston of River Heights, Utah.
Preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two
sisters, Thelma Thorpe, Gwen
Peterson, and three brothers, Dunford Weston, H.
Roscoe Weston, and James R. Weston.
Eliza's family gives heart felt thanks to the
management and staff of Country Pin s Retirement
Community in Clinton, Utah for their compassionate and
loving care, she loved you all.
At the request of the deceased, graveside services
will be held Saturday, November 3, 2005,
at 11 :00 AM at the Logan City Cemetery under the
direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary of Logan.
Family requests no flowers. Condolences may be sent
to the family at Allen Mortuaries.
