Elaine Robinson Hobbs
LOGAN, UTAH: Elaine Robinson Hobbs, 70, of Logan, our
beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed
away on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Logan
Regional Hospital in Logan.
Elaine was born April 18, 1934 in Franklin, Idaho to
Wilburn M. and Mabel Williams Robinson. Her younger
years were spent in Franklin, Idaho. She attended
Preston High School in Preston where she graduated in
1952. Elaine married Milo Benson and lived in Newton,
Utah then later divorced. In 1985, she married
William (Bill) Hobbs in Preston Idaho. They were
later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. Bill and Elaine
enjoyed life together in Logan. Together Bill and
Elaine owned and operated the Latienda in Franklin,
Idaho. Prior to Latienda, Elaine was employed by Low
Cost Drug and retired from Moore Business Forms. She
was hard working, enjoyed meeting people and
maintained many life-long friendships.
Elaine was involved in many organizations. The Ladies
Golf Association was one of her favorites. She was
known as a great party planner, making sure all of
those around her were having fun. Elaine’s most
favorite organization was the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints. She had many jobs in the church
but her favorites were when she served in the Young
Women’s presidency and the Primary presidency. While
serving her callings, she developed many special bonds
with the Young Women’s groups.
Elaine loved her family and friends and was totally
dedicated to her husband and family. Family
gatherings were special times. Her favorite family
occasions were Christmas and any other time that
brought family together. Her special hobby for the
family was scrap-booking. Elaine’s wish was for all
her family and friends to “Be Happy” and “Stay Close”.
Elaine is survived by her husband, William (Bill)
Hobbs; three sons, Scott and Darlene Benson; Todd and
Teri Benson; Ryan and Wendy Benson; two
step-daughters, Gina and Randy Jensen; Jackie Fawson;
two sisters, Marcene Doney; Janice and Richard
Simmons; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister,
Donna and one grandson, Luke.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2005
at 12:00 pm in the Lundstrom Park 2nd Ward , 1250
North 1600 East with Bishop Greg Lambert conducting.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:30
- 11:45 am. Interment will follow at the Franklin
Idaho Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the National Kidney Foundation at
