LOGAN, UTAH: Edwin Thomas Jones, "Ed" 84, passed away
Dec. 6 2004 at his home surrounded by family, after
two-year battle with cancer. Ed was born on Nov. 12,
1920 in Helper Utah. He was son of Edwin Leroy and
Mary Ann W. Jones.
Ed was the second of four children.
His school years were spent in Neola, Price and

attended USU studying to be an Aeronautic Technician.
While in Logan, he met his life long mate and best

1942 in Price, Utah. Their marriage was later
solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 22, 1973.
He was called to serve his country during World War II
in the U.S. Air Force in 1942. Over the next three
years, he served as an aircraft technician working on
B29's in California, Florida, Mississippi, Illinois,
Indiana, South Dakota and Texas.
After his service, he returned to Logan and attended
U.S.U.'s on the job training to be an auto body repair
and paint technician. He, Virginia, and their young

Ed has always loved to go fishing. Some of his
favorite places to fish were up Logan Canyon, Black
Smith Fork, Twin Lakes and Black Foot reservoir in
Idaho. He has always had a great talent for making
things grow especially tomatoes. He also is a great
cook and claims that he taught Virginia everything she
knows about cooking. He also loves spending time with
his wife and family. He has a great imagination and
loves to tell story's to his children and grand
children about the fairies that live beneath the old
trees around his home. We still look for fairies under
the toadstools and in the small tunnels that surround
the old trees in the yard.
