Elma Mae Wolfley Corsi
SMITHFIELD, UTAH: Elma Mae Wolfley Corsi, beautiful
and beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great
Grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully
Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the age of 81 in Logan,
Utah.
Elma Wolfley Corsi was born May 10th 1926 at the old
homestead home in Etna Wyoming to Fred and Elena Ames
Wolfley. She was the last child of nine children, six
brothers and two sisters. Elma was seven years old
when her Mother died of a heart attack at a dance in
Etna. The next several years she stayed with her
married brothers and sister to attend school. Part of
the time she stayed at home with her Dad.
On July 13th 1944 Elma married her sweetheart and
eternal companion Don Corsi in the Logan Temple. They
lived in San Diego California the first two years of
their marriage while Don was stationed there serving
in the Navy. They returned to Star Valley, Wyoming,
bought a farm and raised their three children, Kelly,
Tamra, and Melanie. In 2001 Elma and Don sold their
ranch and moved to Smithfield, Utah.
Elma was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She
spent many loving hours with her sisters,
sisters-in-law, mother-in-law, and friends making
beautiful quilts. She loved the history of Star Valley
and especially her home town Etna. She wrote and
compiled a book "The Hills of Home". Elma was a good
cook and baker, and was well known for her delicious
cinnamon rolls.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints she spent her life serving others.
She served as Relief Society President, Young Woman
President, primary teacher, and a teacher in all of
the organizations. Elma also served with Don as a
missionary leader, and they worked several years in
the Idaho Falls Temple.
Elma was blessed with a kind and generous personality.
She was always taking a pot of chicken noodle soup to
someone in need. She loved her family more than
anything, and she provided a loving home. She will be
missed by many.
Elma is survived by her husband Don Corsi of
Smithfield Utah, son, Kelly Corsi (Chris Gonzales), of
Sandy, Utah, two daughters, Tamra Arnell (Roger) of
South Jordan Utah, Melanie Sue Rock (Jeff) of
