Ellen Hamilton Meservy, 82, passed away quietly on September 3, 2004 at her home in Providence.

She was born on May 18, 1922 in Sugar City, Idaho to Charles Orson and Pearl Andersen Hamilton. She graduated from Sugar City High in 1940 and attended Ricks College. Prior to World War II, she volunteered for service in the National Youth Administration where she trained in defense-related secretarial skills.

She married Nile D. Meservy in the Logan LDS Temple on July 15, 1943. He died in 1992. A talented musician and ardent admirer of the fine arts, Ellen was trained in piano and cello. She was formerly employed at Poppleton’s Beauty Supply and at Beehive Clothing. She was active in the LDS Church and in her later years served a full-time mission in Riverside, California.

She is survived by her children: Dale (Charlette) of Chula Vista, California; Dennis (Carrie) of Sandy; Boyd of Taylorsville; Dean (Shaura) of Harrogate, England; Jenean (Keith) Christensen of Grantsville and Karen (Clare) Cunningham of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers Lloyd (Nina) of Twin Falls, Idaho and Rex (Maurine) of Providence; a sister, June Nadle of St. George and 21 grandchildren. A brother, Jay, and a sister, Beth Krentzlin, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, September 10, 2003 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM and also one hour prior to services on Friday. Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery.
