LOGAN—Faye Cora Duncan Snelson Godfrey of Logan, Utah passed away on November 25, 2006 at Sunshine Terrace in Logan, Utah at the age of 96 from causes incident to age. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was born on July 9, 1910 in Estelline, Texas a daughter of Joe Marcus Duncan and Ruth K. Campbell. She married Winfield Bain Snelson on June 30, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He died on September 4, 1957. She then married Edwin Allen Godfrey on November 26, 1960 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died on September 12, 1981 in Long Beach, California.

She graduated from High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was very active in track and field, becoming a Tulsa City champion sprinter. Later in life she was the Long Beach, California City champion women’s bowler, and recorded three holes-in-one on local golf courses. She retired from McDonald Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, California as a clerk.

Surviving are her two sons Vestal (Noriko) Snelson, El Toro, California and Karl (Shirley) Snelson, North Logan, Utah; three grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her twelve sisters, which included three sets of twins, Faye being one of the sets of twins: Vannie, Nora, Zora, Allie, Katie, Addie, Edna, Etta, Bessie, Dora, Velda, and baby Duncan (unnamed).

Graveside services and internment will be performed at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, California at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2006.
