Gary Lee Watterson
Gary Lee Watterson died after a short illness at the
Brigham Nursing & Rehab Center in Brigham City, Utah
on May 24, 2007 at the age of 56. He was born May 16
1951, to Don L. Watterson & Norma Steffenhagen
Watterson in Logan, Utah. He was the youngest of five
children.
Gary spent his younger years in Benson before moving
to Logan where he attended school and then went on to
work for Legrand Johnson Construction company. He
married Sharon Jacobsen in Hyrum Utah on June 11,
1971. During their marriage they had two children,
Collette & Chad. They later divorced. He was employed
at Legrand Johnson for 29 years where he excelled in
operating heavy equipment and driving truck, which he
truly enjoyed.
Gary's pride and joy were his 4 grand-daughters
especially his little Koda who was his best friend.
Gary loved the mountains and claimed he knew every
road up there like the back of his hand (which he
really did). His favorite past times were going for
rides with his family every Sunday in the mountains,
picnicking, shooting guns, fishing, hunting, and of
course having his beer.
Gary had many friends and loved to tell them all his
funny stories. We will miss his sense of humor and the
way he was such a smarty pants. Gary has such a big
heart he would help anyone in need whether it was
money, a roof over their head, or just someone to talk
to.
He was a proud member of the F.O.E. for many years
where he met many of his friends and held various
positions. This is where he became such a good pool
and horse shoe player, which he really enjoyed.
"Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, We love you and will
miss you dearly. We know you are in a happier and more
comfortable place."
Gary is survived by his children and their spouses,
Collette (Rick) Bindrup of Hyrum, Chad (Callie)
Watterson of Logan. His siblings, Dennis Watterson of
Mt. Sterling, DeeAnn Goodrich of Providence, Alan
(Tub) (Joyce) Watterson of Providence, Steve (Nancy)
Watterson of Millville and his 4 granddaughters Ashle
Dahle, Joslin Bindrup, Dakota Bindrup, and Carlee
Watterson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents, nephew Michael Watterson and
brother in law Lynn Goodrich.
We would like to thank Dr. Vikram Garg, Dr. Bryan
Larsen, Dr. Michael Visick and all of the many,
nurses, & c.n.a.'s at Logan Regional Hospital and
Brigham City Nursing and Rehab for the great care that
he received.
Memorial services for family and friends will be held
at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in the chapel
at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in
Logan, Utah. Condolences may be sent to the family at
