Glen C. Bradley
Our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great
grandfather and uncle, Glen C. Bradley 92 passed away
in Logan, Utah August 4, 2007 due to complications
from a stroke.
Glen, son of Jefferson Bradley and Ellen Hannah
Dennison Bradley was born in Sterling, Utah June 21,
1915. He was the youngest of five sons.
He attended Sterling elementary school and graduated
from Manti High School and later attended Snow College
where he earned a teaching certificate, which began
his long and dedicated career as a teacher and
administrator in the education system. He married his
sweetheart, LeVell Funk in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on
January 2, 1936. The couple
settled in Fruita, Utah where Glen was the teacher of
10 students in a little one-room cabin. He introduced
his students to music, mathematics and astronomy and a
desire to excel; sending many students on to rewarding
careers.
After teaching some years in Fruita he assumed the
principal position in Annabella, Utah in two-room
school. During the time he pursued his own education
by taking full summer school at the University of Utah
and Utah State University for many summers earning his
Bachelors and also Masters Degree. In 1947 he accepted
a position as the industrial arts teacher in
Richfield, Utah. He was soon promoted to Principal of
Richfield High School holding that position until
moving to Logan, Utah with his family in 1952. Glen
held various teaching positions in Logan including
principal of Woodruff Elementary school and teaching
Special Education Students which he found to be on of
his most rewarding callings in his life. His teaching
career spanned over 40 years.
After retiring he continued his insurance career with
Franklin Life company and also farmed part-time with
his son Lee in Howell, Utah.
Glen was an active member of the LDS church serving in
the Annabella ward bishopric. He also enjoyed other
callings in the Logan third ward, including his
favorite position as Scout Master, taking his Troop
number 16 on to win many awards at the various camps
of the Cache Valley Council.
His parents, four brothers and three daughters precede
Glen in death: Twila Bradley, Leslie Ann Bradley
Jorgensen and Deanna Bradley. He is survived by his
wife, LeVell, of 71 years and a son Lee Glen (Dixie)
Bradley as well as many grand children and great grand
children.
The family wishes to express appreciation to all of
the nurses and aids with CNS Hospice who cared so
tenderly for our father and thank also our good Doctor
Steven S. Salisbury and Louise Tobey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday,
August 9, 2007, in the Logan 3rd Ward, 250 North 400
West, Logan, Utah. No public viewing will be held.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of
Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences may be sent to the
family at Allen Mortuaries.
