H. Grant Flygare
Lewiston, Herbert Grant Flygare 87, Beloved father,
Grandfather and Friend. Passed away unexpectedly at
home.
Born Nov 23 1918 in Provo Utah to Clarence Edward and
Vivian Allen Flygare.
Dad was the 4th of 12 children. He attended school in
Wasatch County where he lived, worked and met his
eternal companion, and love of his live, Lucile
Whiting. They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake
Temple on 25 September 1940. After the birth of their
first 2 children he was drafted into the Army and
spent the next two years in Japan and the Philippines
where he earned the nickname of Hap, because of his
happy disposition. After the war they were blessed
with 3 more children. In 1960 they moved their family
to Lewiston where he farmed, worked at the sugar
factory and built many homes and dairy barns.
Dad served in many positions in the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, both ward and stake
callings, and was a faithful servant of the Lord. Dad
loved the church and lived by its principles everyday
of his life and taught all of those around him by his
example.
Grant is survived by 2 daughters and 3 sons: Fran (Al)
Sanders Plano TX, Tracy (Lorraine) Delta UT, Jay
(Linda) Lewiston UT, Ben (Mary Lee) Smithfield UT.,
Carolyn (Brent) Bair Richmond UT. 20 Grandchildren,
and 32 Great Grandchildren. 1 brother John, 6 Sisters
Norma Thacker, Colleen Morrison, Muriel Rigby, LaRue
Clements, Mary Jean Davies, and Rollynne Summers.
Proceeded in death by his Wife Lucile, 4 brothers,
Clarence Edward Jr., Elmo, Russell Giles, Harold and
his parents.
Funeral services at 12 noon Saturday November 4th in
the Lewiston 3rd Ward Church House at 16 South Main.
Friends and neighbors can call from 6-8 Friday Nov.
3rd at the Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 East Center St Logan
and Saturday Nov 4 10:30 to 11 :30 at the church.
