James Jackson Hill
WELLSVILLE, UTAH: James Jackson Hill died of natural
causes at the age of 94, Wellsville, Utah in his own
home as he requested. He was born on Sept 10, 1910, in
Roberts, Jefferson, Idaho to Chancey Eugene Hill and
Hermonie Jackson.
He has lived in Idaho and in
Roosevelt, Provo and Wellsville Utah. He served a
mission to the Central States Mission. After his
return he was drafted and served in Europe in World
War II as a medic. He returned home, met and married
his spouse LaVetta Carter who was the daughter of
Layfayette Carter and Hettie Rebecca Tanner.
He was
preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3
sisters, Horace, Roy Harold, June Hill, Alta Lovell,
Crystal Broderick, Laurel Redd, as well as a grandson,
Robert Mathew Hill and a granddaughter Adie Elizabeth
Ann Hill.
He is survived by his spouse, his children,
Jimmy Hill of Elk, Washington; Marla Price of San
Antonio, Texas; Betty Horlacher of Wellsville, Utah;
Robert Hill of Huntington, Utah; Julia Purser of
Pocatello, Idaho; Shirley Shallbetter of Magna, Utah;
Nancy Leafty of Magna, Utah; Helen Wheeler of
Syracuse, Utah; Richard Hill of Lehi, Utah; his
brother and sisters George Hill, and sisters Faun
Bosworth, Joy Adams, Raola Lee, Wanda Daley, & Eva
Ford, 43 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren.
We
will miss his wonderful presence in our midst and we
honor him for the wonderful father, grandfather and
great grandfather which he was. He will truly be
missed.
Those wishing to attend, the funeral will be
held in the new Purple Church at 195 S. Center
Wellsville, Utah. We express our greatest thanks for
all who knew and helped serve our father in any way.
Our deepest appreciation goes to the Rocky Mountain
Hospice workers who helped in the last few weeks of
his life. He truly loved and appreciated them. Thanks
to all who have assisted in the past year.
A viewing
will be held on Sunday Dec 5, 2004 at the Allen-Hall
Mortuary from 5-7 pm and also at the new Purple
Church from 9:00-10:00 am before the Funeral which
starts at 10:30 am. There will also be a small service
before interment in the Provo City Cemetery which will
be at 3:00 pm in Provo.
