Karla Jane Miller Duce Reese passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2005 at the Logan Regional Hospital.

She was born on November 14, 1928 in Wellsville, Utah. She was the 5th child of Loran Miller and Jane Jones. Her grandmother was a midwife and helped the doctor deliver her. She has three brothers and three sisters; Loran J., Job J., Thomas J., Margaret, Alice and LaRay.

As a child she helped on the family farm with the beets and the hay. In the winter she loved to sleigh ride on the hill just outside her home. She was educated in the schools in Wellsville and South Cache.

She married Carl Duce on June 2, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. They had three children; Nyman, Karlene and Bart. She married Budd Reese after Carl passed away.

She was an excellent housekeeper. Her family and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She worked at Morning Milk Company, before her marriage. She also worked at Cache Valley Dairy and at U.S.U. until retirement. She lived in Hyde Park all of her married life.

She is survived by her son Bart (Marie) Duce; son-in-law, Weston Carlson of Walnut Creek, California; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brothers; Job J. Miller of Fielding, Utah, Thomas J. Miller of West Jordan, Utah and sister; LaRay Olson of Young Ward, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Margaret and Alice, brother; Loran J., along with her son Nyman and her daughter Karlene.

At Karla’s request, no viewing or funeral service will be held. A graveside service will be held an Monday, November 28, 2005 at 12:30 PM in the Hyde Park Cemetery.
