Leon Anderson Corbridge
LOGAN—Leon Anderson Corbridge, known as Pete by his
family and friends, passed away March 4, 2005.
Pete was born July 21, 1921 in Franklin, Idaho to
Joseph and Ester (Anderson) Corbridge. He spent his
early years in Franklin and then moved to Logan, Utah
where he graduated from Logan High. He served in the
Army during World War II stationed mostly in England.
Pete met and married his sweetheart, Afton Bodily, on
March 5, 1951 in the Logan Temple. He has returned
home to be with her just in time for their
anniversary.
He worked for several years as a finish carpenter for
Lynn Skabelund Construction where he was given the
hard finish jobs such as building circular stairways
which were built from scratch, gluing piece after
piece together ending in a beautiful staircase.
Pete also was a mink rancher after hours for 35 years.
He specialized in pastel and demi colored mink.
He is survived by one son and two daughters: Dennis
(Kathryn) Corbridge, Hyde Park, Judy (Kevin) Moser,
Smithfield, Karen (Andy) Moosman, Logan, and by a
sister-in-law, Virginia Corbridge of Franklin, Idaho.
He has 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and
many nieces and nephews of whom he was very fond.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph &
Ester (Anderson) Corbridge, his sweetheart Afton, and
5 brothers and one sister: Heber, Douglas, Gerard,
Willis, Marion and Lena (Buckley).
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2005
at 12:00 noon at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East
Center St, Logan, with Bishop Craig Hislop
conducting. A viewing will be Monday, March 7 from
6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary and prior to the
service on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Pete will
be buried in the Logan Cemetery next to his wife.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to
the ICU nurses at Logan Regional Hospital for their
wonderful and sympathetic care to dad.
