Leo R. Huber
Hyde Park, Utah: Leo Ronald Huber, 66, passed away on
Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the Logan Regional
Hospital. He was born February 7, 1940 in Salt Lake
City, Utah to George Henry, Sr. and Katherine Stones
Huber. He married Karen Garner on December 8, 1961 in
Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in
the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 8, 1994.
He
served in the United States Navy, 1957-1963. He served
on the USS Perry Destroyer. He was a member of the
American Legion and the Civil Air Patrol.
He was the chief engineer with Channel 4 in Salt Lake
City and had worked with Bonneville Communications. He
retired from Utah State University as their satellite
engineer.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints and was a High Priest.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; three sons, Ronald
Glenn (Kristy); Keith Garner (Laurie), both of West
Jordan, Utah and David G., West Covina, California; 13
grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers
and 3 sisters; Dorene Halford, West Valley City, Utah;
George Jr. (Ivy), Glendale, Utah; Kathy Delaplaine
(Lewis), Salt Lake City; Jerry (Barbara), Riverton,
Utah; and Peggy Nielsen (Glen), Sandy, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson,
Christopher Leo Huber and a niece, Shauna Bridge.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Robert Nash
and Ali Ben-Jacob for their kind care of Leo.
Because of a generous heart donor 13 years ago, the
family requests in lieu of flowers donations to the
Deseret Foundation, % LDS Hospital, 8 North & C
Street, SLC., UT 84143.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday,
September 5, 2006 in the Hyde Park 5th Ward Chapel, 63
East Center Street, with Bishop Victor Sorenson
conducting. There will be a viewing on Monday evening
from 6-8 p.m. at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420 East
1800 North, North Logan and at the Church on Tuesday
from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to services.
Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery with
military honors. Condolences may be sent to the family
and a guest book signed at Allen Mortuaries.
