Lois R. Paoletti
Lois R. Paoletti died at her home in Logan, Utah after a fall and subsequent complications. Lois was born in
American Fork, Utah; the daughter of Charles E. Robinson and Florilla Evans Robinson.
Music became a large part of Lois’ life even though she attended school in several states: Hobson, Montana; Lind,
Washington; Portland, Oregon and Ogden, Utah due to her father’s work with General Mills. Lois became a part of
bands and orchestras wherever she lived.
Graduating Cum Laude from Ogden High School in Ogden, Utah, Lois received first place honors in the State of
Utah High School Clarinet Competition. Performing with the R.O.T.C. Band, the Ogden High Band, the Ogden High
Orchestra and as a soloist playing clarinet and saxophone, Lois received a music scholarship to Weber College.
She studied privately with Glen Hanson as well.
Ogden, Utah was also the setting for her when she met Thomas Francis Paoletti. Their marriage took place in
Salt Lake City but they returned to Ogden to live. Thomas’employer then transferred them to Reno, Nevada.
Their daughter, Lynne, was born in Reno and soon after Thomas was again transferred to Logan, Utah where Lois
and Thomas lived until their deaths.
Lois’ love of music was a common interest for the entire family. Lois and Lynne both studied piano with Irving
Wassermann and became keen supporters of Utah Festival Opera and KUED Public Television at the University of Utah.
They became members of the John R. Park Society at the University of Utah and the Broadcasters Club with KUED Public
Television at the University of Utah.
As an active and devoted bridge player, Lois was a member of several bridge clubs both at the Logan Country Club
and elsewhere.
Preceding Lois in death were Lois’ parents, her husband Thomas Francis, her brother, Russell Robinson, and her
sister, Fay Foulger. Lois is survived by her daughter, Lynne, and several nieces and nephews.
