Marlene Hodges Friedli
Marlene Hodges Friedli, 59, passed away peacefully
from complications following surgery on
Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 surrounded by her family.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1945 in Preston, Idaho. The
only daughter of Elmer and Maude Jones
Hodges. She married C. Barry Nielsen on Sept. 7, 1962,
they later divorced. Married Joseph
M. Friedli on Aug. 18, 1972 in Elko, Nevada. They were
later sealed in the Logan Temple.
Mom was an avid scrap booker, preserving our
family memories. she also enjoyed collecting many owl
figurines. Our hearts will always be warmed with the
quilts, blankets, and afghans that she lovingly
crafted. she also contributed numerous handcrafted
items for the Church's Humanitarian Program.
She worked for Jack's/Lee's Marketplace for several
years. She provided loving newborn and infant care for
numerous families. She was an active member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints and served
in many callings.
Marlene spent her childhood in Preston, Idaho and
lived her adult life in CacheValley, currently resided
in Smithfield, Utah.
She is survived by her loving spouse of 32 years
Joseph. children; Debbie (Russ) Meeds of Bear River
City, Utah; Mari (John) Hamula of Ogden, Utah; Jim
Nielsen of Smithfield; David (Kris) Friedli of Hyrum,
Utah; Todd (Candy) Friedli of Sandy, Utah;
Kami(Jeremy) Womack of Logan, Utah. Six granddaughters
and six grandsons and one great granddaughter. She is
also survived by her mother-inlaw, Mildred Friedli of
Smithfield, Utah. Four brothers, Keith (Yvonne) of
Preston, Idaho; Ron of Bountiful, Utah; Thayne/Cedar
(Karen) of Preston, Idaho; Larry of Boise, Idaho; and
Deone (LaMont) of Preston, Idaho.
Marlene was proceeded in death by her parents, her
father-in-law, Martin Friedli, a brother Elmo and his
wife Wanda, abrother LaMont and his wife Joan, and
sister-in-law Naomi (Ron).
There will be a family viewing and prayer at
Allen-Hall Mortuary at 1:00 pm, Tuesday Jan. 4, 2005.
Grave side service to follow at Logan City Cemetery.
