Mildred Z. Swensen
Mildred Emelia Zollinger Swensen 82, passed away
Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004 surrounded by loving
family in Hyrum, Utah. Mildred was born December 24,
1921, in College Ward, Utah. The daughter of Jacob
Ezra and Bertha Aikele Zollinger.
Mildred graduated
from South Cache High School in 1931. During WWII she
was a welder at the shipyard in San Fransisco, CA.,
after which she graduated from Utah State University
in 1946. She married her sweetheart, Harvey Marenus
Swensen on July 19, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple. She
was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, and attended the temple often.
Mildred worked for the Logan City School
District and then Ace Mill and Fixture as their
secretary for 22 years. She was an excellent cook and
cooked many wonderful meals for her family. Mildred
always kept scrapbooks and enjoyed sharing them. She
loved gardening and reading.
She was a volunteer at
Logan Regional Hospital for many years. Mildred loved
chocolate almost as much as she loved spending time
with her children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She fondly remembered the many travels
and tours she and Harvey took with their friends
through the years.
Mildred is survived by 3 children; Peggy & Kenneth
Boehme, Hyrum, Utah; Richard (Dick) & Elaine Swensen,
Smithfield, Utah; and Val and Dixie Swensen, North
Logan, Utah; 10 grandchildren; Brandyn, Ryan,
Kammeron, Shannan (Christley) and Quinn Boehme;
Britnee (Fenton), Erik and Ashley Swensen; and Chelsea
and Cody Swensen; 8 great grandchildren. One brother,
Melvin Zollinger. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Harvey M. Swensen, eight brothers and four
sisters, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday,
November6, 2004 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E.
Center St., Logan. Friends and family may call at the
Allen-Hall Mortuary on Friday, November 5, 2004, from
6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday beginning at 8:30 AM.
Burial will conclude at the Logan City Cemetery.
