Ordell Haslam Cooper
WELLSVILLE--Ordell Haslam Cooper of Wellsville, age 88, died Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the
Legacy (Logan) House of Logan in Logan, UT. She was born August 2, 1917 in Wellsville to
Alvin Maughan Haslam and Eva Stuart Haslam.
She married Luther Redford Cooper March 6, 1934.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. She was educated in Wellsville
and attended South Cache High School. She worked side by side with Luther on a farm. She also
worked at Thiokol, Utah State University, Ogden Defense Depot, and retired from Hill Air Force Base.
She was active in the L.D.S. Church where she served in many positions. After retiring, she attended
the temple twice a week performing 1,171 endowments.
Survivors include her children Eva (Carrol) Barnes, Covis CA, Patsy (Mark) Berry, Riverdale, UT,
Dale (Linda) Cooper, Wellsville, UT; sister Ruth Taylor of California; and brothers, Alvin Haslam,
Wellsville, UT, Seth (Nancy) Haslam, Atlanta, GA, and Dean (Betty) Haslam, Wellsville, UT.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther R. Cooper, a daughter Shirley Pehrson, a grandson David Pehrson,
and a sister, Leatha Shaw. She had 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Ordell requested that a simple graveside service be held in her honor. These services will be held Wednesday,
November 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wellsville City Cemetery. Friends and family may call Tuesday
evening, November 8, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday morning prior to services from 11:00 a.m
to 12:15 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Online condolences may be extended
at Nelson Funeral Home.
