Reese Movell Ward
LOGAN, UTAH: Reese Movell Ward, 83, died Saturday,
May 12,2007 at his home in Logan. He was born May 10,
1924 in Willard, Utah, a son of Joseph and Elizabeth
Ward. He married Katharine August 5, 1945. After
Katharine's death he later married Delene.
Reese entered the Air Force while [mishing at Box
Elder High School. He served in World War II as an
airplane mechanic and then later served as a clerk.
While in the service he sparred with world boxing
champion, Joe Lewis.
With his wife, Reese made his home in Logan where they
lived and raised their four children. He worked for
Central Auto Parts Company for over twenty years and
then for Utah State University in charge of the
central warehouse where he was named outstanding
employee of the year.
He was an excellent swimmer, loved to fish and hunt
and most of all loved to spend time with his family.
He enjoyed working, dancing and loved good music.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-Day Saints serving as a home teacher, high
priest, executive secretary and three stake missions.
His last calling was as young single adult mentor
where he served until the last few months of his life.
He is survived by his wife Delene, children Movell
(Barbara); Karen (Wilford Duersch); Lori (Doug Moore);
and Tyler (VoAnna); also Karen and Tim Cassity and
family; Tony and Kim Bassett and family; twenty-one
grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren;
brother Joe (Marilyn) sisters Mary(Farrell Hill) and
Roujean (Ken Noall).
Funeral services will be Thursday May 17, 2007 at 11
:00 am at the Mt. Logan Stake Center, 565 E. 100
South. Friends may call at Allen-Hall Mortuary
Wednesday May 16 from 6-8 pm. Burial will be in the
Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the
family at Allen Mortuaries.
