Rhonda Karen Wiley
Logan, Utah -
Rhonda Karen Marks Wiley, 53, Logan, Utah, died in her
home Thursday March 22, 2007, surrounded by her loving
family after a courageous battle with cancer. Rhonda
will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, nana and
friend, as well as for her loving nature,
determination, and for her wonderful spirit.
Rhonda was born Aug. 17, 1953 in Fordyce, Arkansas.
She was the second daughter of Royce Hayden Marks and
Mildred Inez Gresham Marks. She grew up with one
wonderful sister Barbra Marks Izatt Gehler.
After spending the beginning years of her life in
Arkansas, her family moved to Utah. Rhonda was
educated in the Logan City School system, graduating
from Logan High School. It was there she met the love
of her life Steven Glen Wiley, along with countless
friends.
Rhonda and Steven were married in 1970 in Logan, and
have spent 36 wonderful years together. They welcomed
into their lives two children, Jeremy Wiley of Logan,
UT and Michele (Brian) Lee of Fielding, UT. Rhonda
went through life knowing of the love her family had
for her and the special place she held in their
hearts. Likewise, the family knew how much she adored
them.
Most of all Rhonda loved her grandchildren; Kylie,
Kelsie, Kenzie (Lee) and Nicole (Wiley). There was
nothing that she wouldn't do for her grandchildren as
well as her family. She spent much of her time
following the little ones she loved, be it dance
competitions or sporting events, she was always there
to give her whole hearted love and support. There was
nothing better than a big hug from Nana.
Rhonda spent six years working for Wurlitzer in Logan,
before spending the last 25 years working for
Weathershield Mfg. in Nibley as a customer service
representative, with many of her nearest and dearest
friends. These friends have been the ones that have
helped and supported Rhonda through much of her life
in so many different ways. They are exceptional
ladies that touched Rhonda’s spirit and life in such
special ways. They will always be a part of her.
Rhonda was a consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, and
was recently inducted into the Utah State University
Old Main Society with her husband Steve.
Rhonda is survived by her husband Steve, and her son
Jeremy and daughter Michele and son-in-law Brian. She
is also survived by her 4 loving grandchildren. Rhonda
is preceded in death by her father and mother as well
as her sister.
The family would like to thank all that have helped in
the care for Rhonda, especially Dr. Ali Ben-Jacob and
his staff, the Intermountain Infusion Center, as well
as the McKay-Dee Cancer Center, and Intermountain Home
Care (Hospice). Rhonda, as well as the Wiley and Lee
families also wants to thank all of the marvelous
friends and family that have given support and prayers
in this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers have
been so comforting. We will never be able to say thank
you enough.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday,
March 27, 2006 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E.
Center Street in Logan, with Bishop Kerry Campbell
conducting. A viewing will be held on Monday evening
from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the mortuary and prior to
services on Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Interment
will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
The family has asked that contributions be made to the
Logan Regional Hospital Foundation Cancer Center in
Rhonda’s Memory. Condolences may be sent to the
family at Allen Mortuaries.
