Robena Parker Falslev
Robena Parker Falslev, 75, loving wife, mother, and
grandmother, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007, at
home, surrounded by family, after a valiant struggle
with Parkinson ’s disease.
Robena was born August 17, 1931, in Hooper, Utah, to
Hattie Green and Robert Parel Parker. She was raised
in Hooper and attended schools in Weber County
attending Weber State College and graduating from Utah
State Agricultural College in 1951. She married H.
Spencer Falslev, August 25, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple.
They have four children and nine
grandchildren. Her great love and passion for life was
evident in all she did. She taught 2nd grade and 4th
grades at Lincoln Elementary in Brigham City,
Wellsville Elementary and North Logan Elementary,
loving each student.
She and Dad worked together for
over 50 years in their photography business, Spence
Studio. She was instrumental in photographing hundreds
of babies, weddings and families in Cache Valley. A
lady of many talents, she loved to do handiwork, make
wonderful meals and work in the yard and garden. She
also loved good literature, a good joke, and had many
fond memories traveling throughout the world. She was
a wonderful wife, mom, and grandma and loved nothing
more than being with her family. She is our example of
determination and charity, whose kind and loving
spirit will be greatly missed by her family and
friends.
Robena was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints, graciously serving in many
different positions. She especially enjoyed working in
the Logan LDS Temple Babtistry for many years with
Dad.
She is survived by her sweetheart of 53 years, four
children, Dave (KayeDawn) Falslev of Smithfield, Bena
(Kent) Reid of Canton, Connecticut, Kathleen (Todd)
Cottle of Logan, and Robert of California, and nine
grandchildren, Vanessa, Tasha, Tyson, J.D., Kassi,
Kolter, Christopher, Austin, and Cameron. Also
surviving are her older brother Bob (Maxine) Parker of
Centerville, Utah, sister-in-law Luella Parker of
Hooper, Utah, Barbara Douglas of Payette, Idaho, and
many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her two brothers, Dale and H. Lisle Parker, and her
parents.
The family would like to thank all of the many
friends, neighbors, Chad Mangum and Access Hospice,
and caregivers Tasha Falslev, Brooke Hancey, Mandi
McBride, Kelli Rich, Linda Robinson, and Thelma Roley,
for their loving service over the past 2 years.
