Robert Warren Rust
Robert Warren Rust, 94, died peacefully at the home he
built on September 8, surrounded by his family. He was
preceded in death by his beloved wife Esther Webber
Rust.
Robert was born November 28, 1913 in Logan, Utah. He
was the son of Henry Rust and Alice Crookston Rust. He
was the father of Richard W. Rust (Colleen Cripps) of
Reno, Nevada, Jeanne Marie Anspach ( James Anspach,
deceased) of Portland, Oregon and Alice Glenn (Don) of
Seattle, Washington; grandfather of Michelle Marie
Clonts (Jim) of Logan, Jay Anspach (Debbi) of
Port1and, Oregon, Tom Rust (JoJo) of Reno, Nevada and
Gloriann Glenn and Robert T. Glenn of Seattle,
Washington; and great-grandfather of Logan James
Anspach, Dylan James Anspach and Megan Marie Anspach
of Portland, Oregon.
He spent his entire life in his beloved Cache Valley
with the exception of 4 years when he proudly served
his country in the Army Infantry. He married Esther
Marie Webber, the love of his life, on August 26,
1939. Bob and Esther and their children were sealed in
the Logan LDS Temple in 1952. Bob owned and operated
the Royal Bakery, a Logan institution, his entire
professional life. Those who knew the Royal Bakery
knew Bob. Everyone had their favorite baked treat and
each considered their favorite the best and Bob the
best.
He was an active member of the Cache Valley Community
and there are few people in the Valley whose lives he
did not touch. He was active in his church, in
scouting and conservation his entire life. After
retirement Bob and Esther traveled extensively
visiting their children, grandchildren, and great
grandchildren, but he was always happiest in his
beloved Valley home.
He spent his first days, best days and his last days
in Logan Canyon. The history of Logan Canyon is the
history of Bob Rust.
