Robert Cyril Pitcher
Robert Cyril Pitcher, 81, of Hayden, Idaho, formerly
of Lewiston, Utah died at his home on May 26, 2005.
He was born on April 16, 1924 in Lewiston, Utah to
Henry Cyril and Phoebe Boman Pitcher.
Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints. He was raised in Lewiston and
graduated from North Cache High School in 1942. He was
drafted into the United States Army and served in the
European theater in the 63rd Infantry for three years.
After his Army service, he settled in Lewiston. He
loved playing baseball and pitched a perfect no hitter
for the Lewiston 2nd Ward team.
In 1957 he moved his family to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho
where he purchased a dairy farm. Later, he was the
owner and auctioneer of the Coeur d’ Alene Livestock
Auction. He went on to become a founding member of the
All Star Realty. In all of his business dealings he
was known for his honesty and integrity.
He taught his children the value of hard work and his
favorite saying was, “Do it right the first time.” He
loved the outdoors and to hunt and fish with his sons.
He married Beth Rauch in 1997. He is survived by his
wife Beth, sister, Mildred Olmstead, Logan, Utah;
brother, Jed L. Pitcher, Lewiston, Utah, and Bob’s six
children with Joye Bingham: Cathryn (Fred) Sharp, Post
Falls, Idaho; Annette 9dan) Pierce, Ogden, Utah;
Robert Pitcher, Hayden, Idaho; Todd Pitcher, Hayden,
Idaho; Kelly Pitcher, Clear field, Utah; Irene (Russ)
Galt, Layton, Utah. Bob has 18 grandchildren and 7
great-grandchildren with one more soon to come.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 31,
2005 at 12:00 Noon in the Lewiston City Cemetery. A
viewing will be held at the Lewiston 1st Ward Chapel,
1000 South and 1600 West, Lewiston on Tuesday morning
from 10:00am to 11:45am. Interment in the Lewiston
City Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of
Allen-Hall Mortuary.
