Selena Gregory Low
Selena Gregory Low of Smithfield, Utah passed away November 4, 2005 at Logan Regional Hospital.
She was born to Thomas Joseph Gregory and Maryann Hawkswood Gregory on January 2, 1916 in Cove, Utah.
She was raised in Lewiston, Utah. She graduated from North Cache High School in 1934. She married Leo
Grady Low in the Logan temple September 30, 1936. Leo passed away July 12, 1991.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many
responsible ward and stake auxiliary positions such as ward and stake relief society president. She and
Leo served missions to the Philippines and Independence, Missouri. After Leo passed away she served seven
and a half years in the Family History Mission in Salt Lake City, Utah. She loved to read and study the gospel.
She particularly loved reading the Book of Mormon.
She was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed oil painting, raising flowers, fishing,
handwork and family history research. She and Leo developed a love for golf and she was an enthusiastic
member of the ladies golf association in Smithfield. Her family remembers the aroma of home baked bread, sour
cream chocolate cake and apple dumplings.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo, sisters Vella Taggart, Sylvia Gregory, Adeline Done,
Dora Egbert, Mary Lou Clemensen, and brother Seth Gregory. She is survived by her children; L. Thomas Low
(Sonja) Ogden Ut., Suzanne Rigby (Gregg) Richmond Ut., Greg Low (Linda) Smithfield, Ut., Jennette Clark (Jim)
Boise, Id., Stella Preston (Stan) Tuba City, Az., 19 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren. She is also
survived by her brother, Dr. Douglas H. Gregory (Ruth), brother-in-law Robert Clemensen, sisters-in-law Berniece
Gregory, Lona Low, brother and sister in law Val and Lillian Rigby.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday November 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Bishop Kyle Griffiths of the
Smithfield 16th ward. Location of the services is 625 E. 600 S. Smithfield. Friends may call at the Nelson
Funeral Home, 85 South Main, in Smithfield on Monday November 7, 2005 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday
prior to the funeral service at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be at the Smithfield Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family
