Silvin LaMoyle Petersen
RIVER HEIGHTS, UT: Silvin LaMoyle Petersen, devoted
husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and
friend, was born September 1, 1922 and passed
peacefully on June 17, 2005.
Silvin LaMoyle was the third of five children born to
Silvin and Edna Petersen. He spent his younger years
in Benson Ward, Utah, enjoying some carefree times
with family and friends, but also working very hard to
help support his family during the difficult years of
the depression.
"Pete" attended North Cache High School, graduating
from Logan High School. He met the love of his life
and the woman he was to marry, Amy Hadfield, right
before he left to serve his country in the United
States Armed Forces.
"Pete" and Amy were married in the Logan Temple,
sealed for eternity, and lived a short period of time
in Logan, before moving to River Heights, where they
raised all seven children and were an excellent
example of how love, honesty, dedication and hard work
are the key ingredients to a family unit. Through his
long hours and hard work at. Pete's Conoco, Jack's
Tire & Oil and Logan City, he truly showed his sons
and daughters the true meaning of "hard-work" and
dedication.
He was a faithful member of the LDS River Heights
First Ward, serving in various church callings and as
a temple worker.
After retiring from Logan City, he enjoyed playing
golf and fishing with both family and friends.
Proceeding "Pete” on his eternal journey, was his
father, Silvin, mother, Edna, and his brother,
Darrell. Surviving him are his three sisters, Norma
Watts, Maxine Baugh, and Edna Mae Thomson, his wife of
59 years, Amy Hadfield Petersen, all seven of his sons
and daughters: Craig, Larry, Kim, Danny, DeAnn
(Sparks), Debra (Hansen) and Tanya (Stecklein). To
date, his posterity is nearing 100.
Silvin, LaMoyle, S.L, Pete., Dad, Grandpa.. .you will
be greatly missed, always remembered and forever
loved.
Until we meet again, Dad!
