Sharleen Hutchins Saunders
Celebrate the life and passing of Sharleen Hutchins
Saunders on 16 July, 2005 at the McKay-Dee Hospital in
Ogden, Utah, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She began her life in Preston, Idaho, on December 8,
1960 after three "dry runs" to the hospital. She was
the third of four children born to Bert Johnston and
Maureen Moss Hutchins. Sharleen met her forever
sweetheart and married Paul Kelly Saunders on February
15, 1980, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They were
blessed with three children, Brett, Scott and Stacie,
two daughters-in-law, Renee and Mindy, and two
grandsons, Matthew and Trenton.
Sharleen and Paul opened their home to several
exchange students, and any and all the neighborhood
kids. Sharleen proudly wore the title of "Cool Aid
Mom". She also worked with the Junior Miss programs in
both Malad and Downey. Sharleen loved being a busy
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, serving actively in all auxiliaries of the
church, but her heart was with the Young Women's
Program.
Sharleen had a sense of humor that was quick to "zing"
anyone that came near her, and combined with her
bright green flashing eyes, she was something to
behold and reckoned with. She was quick to make mends
and there are many people who will miss her wonderful
loving spirit. The pride of her life is her husband,
children, and grandchildren, and their
accomplishments.
She is survived by her husband Paul Saunders of
Richmond, Utah: sons Brett Paul (Renee), Juneau,
Alaska, Scott Leroy (Mindy), Salt Lake City, Utah;
daughter, Stacie Ann, Provo, Utah: grandsons Matthew
and Trenton: one brother and two sisters: Brian
Hutchins (Jamie), Brigham City, Utah, Beverly Hutchins
(Kevan), Post Falls, Idaho, Carol (Kirt) Davis,
Riverton, Utah; two half-sisters, Suzanne (Robert)
Scheller, Coconut Creek, Florida, Diane (Bill) Sirola,
Davie, Florida, niece Patricia (Brian) Larson,
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and her mother, Maureen
Condie, Preston, Idaho. She was preceded in death by
her father, Bert Johnston Hutchins, "Daddy" Roy
Condie, grandparents, her niece Ashley, and her dear
friend, Penny Greaves.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday,
