Varble R. "Ted" Darrow
Former Kenai Alaska resident and local resident of
Logan, Varble Ralph "Ted" Darrow 67, passed away of
an aneurysm May 11, 2005. The second of four children,
Mr. Darrow was born in Wenatchee, Washington on
October 19, 1937 to Cleal and Ethel Petersen Darrow.
Mr Darrow was raised in eastern Oregon and married
Helen Crowl on August 13, 1966. Mr. Darrow moved his
family to Alaska in 1973 and resided in Kenai, Alaska
until his retirement. from Unocal Alaska in 1992. In
1993 Mr. and Mrs. Darrow moved to Logan, Utah where he
was employed at ICON Health and Fitness until his
untimely death.
Mr. Darrow enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting,
fishing and spending time with his family, especially
his beloved grandchildren. He always had a "trained"
cat by his side.
Mr. Darrow is survived by his wife Helen of 38 years,
his children, Cherie and Scott Curry of Kenai, Alaska,
John and Monica Darrow of Soldotna, Alaska, David
Darrow of Logan Utah, Catherine and Mac Gallegos of
Colorado City, Colorado, 11 grandchildren, Alicia
(Brewer) and Shawn Maltby of Sebastian Florida, Kamela
and Kelsey Brewer and their father Barry Brewer of
Kenai, Alaska, Mariah, Jacob and Joshua Darrow of
Soldotna Alaska, Zachrey, Hailey and Hope Darrow and
their mother Heidi Darrow of Logan, Utah, Lauren
Gallegos of Colorado City, Colorado, 1 Great
Grandchild, Dylan Maltby of Sebastian, Florida. Mr.
Darrow is also survived by his sister, Elaine Wallace
of Hermiston, Oregon, brother Vaughan Darrow and
several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cleal and
Ethel Darrow and his brother, Dean Darrow.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 16,
2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary
Chapel, 420 East 1800 North, North Logan, Utah. A
viewing will be on Sunday from 2-4:00 P.M.
