Tim James Jorgensen
Smithfield Utah –Tim James Jorgensen 49 was reunited
with his Father and Mother Thursday, July 21, 2005, at
LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City after a valiant battle
with pancreatic cancer. Tim was born January 27, 1956
in Butte Montana to Marvin and Norean Jorgensen. He
moved to Smithfield three years later and remained
there until his death. He served in the U.S. Army
during peace time and was honorably discharged. Tim
is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints.
One June 1, 1979 Tim married Lisa Fuhriman, in
Wellsville Utah. Their children are Tyrell James and
Lacey Kay. All of Smithfield. They were divorced in
2000.
Tim married Tamie Wardle, his Jr. High School
Sweetheart, February 14, 2001, in West Yellow Stone.
Tim & Tamie will be sealed in the Vernal Temple. Tim
inherited several more children. Staci & Greg
Heminway, Rancho Cordova CA; Alisa (CA) & Walter
Escobar, Korea; Camron Walton, Sheldon Wardwell,
Stephine Wardwell all of Smithfield. Grandchildren
Cassie & Jacob Heminway. As a family and a couple Tim
loved travel and adventure. The week before his
passing Tim traveled to the High Uintahs for a family
reunion. As a couple we planned to retire on the
mountain with a bed-and-breakfast and to establish a
Fire Department in Dutch John.
Tim worked for Logan City in the Park’s Department
from 1974 to 1979 when he went to work for North Logan
City as a heavy equipment operator. Continuing his
education he headed the Streets Department and became
Building Inspector of North Logan City. In 1992 Tim
was appointed North Logan City Fire & Rescue Fire
Chief. Tim’s passion for the Fire Department was
endless. Being the “Fire Chief” was just who he was.
His devotion, and possibly his first love, was to his
volunteers, their education and together their
commitment to have a safe community and serve the
public. Tim always felt a deep appreciation to the
Smithfield Fire & Rescue Department for their support
in establishing North Logan Fire and Rescue. Tim
always told of his appreciation for early North Logan
City Mayors and Chief Paul Lamont who without them he
said “there would be no North Logan Fire & Rescue”
Tim praised his Volunteers “Heroes” he would call
them.
Family and friends may call on Tim Monday July 25,
2005 from 6:00-8:00pm at Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420
East 1800 North, North Logan, and at the church on
Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 am. Funeral services will be
held at 10:00am on Tuesday July 26 2005 at the
