Violet Eleanor Nielsen Nielsen
Violet Eleanor Nielsen Nielsen, 87, died February 25,
2008, at Parkview Hospital (Pueblo, Colorado), from
causes incident to age.
She was born April 30, 1920, in Spanish Fork, Utah,
and was the youngest daughter of eight children born
to William Henry Nielsen and Annie Elnora Sorensen
Nielsen. Violet attended schools in the Spanish Fork
area before attending Brigham Young Academy.
Violet married Clark Wayne Nielsen in the Salt Lake
City LDS Temple on September 11, 1940. After WWII
ended, Mom and Dad returned to Hyrum and purchased
their dairy farm where they raised their family and
taught many young men the value of work. While living
in Hyrum, Mom made many life long friends. She enjoyed
riding in the Hyrum Saddle Club and also her
activities with the "Do Nothing Club".
In 1965 the family moved to Deer Lodge, Montana, where
Mom enjoyed her employment as an x-ray technician in
the local medical clinic. After several years in
Montana, the family returned to Utah, living in Summit
and Provo. During their years in Provo, Mom work for
BYU as an event planner and coordinator. Many special
occasions at BYU were a part of her planning during
this time.
Mom and Dad served four missions across the world for
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mom
was a faithful member of the Church all of her life
and held many varied callings. She read extensively
and treasured her knowledge and testimony of the
gospel. Mom found great joy in her family, children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially
loved the little ones.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years,
Clark W. Nielsen, a daughter, Kathlyn Nielsen Denke, a
great-grandson, Grayson Welling, her parents and
siblings.
After Dad's death, mom married Edwin P. Hansen and
enjoyed time traveling to visit their families until
his death in 2004.
Mom is survived by her children, Anna Jean (Dugan)
Andrus, Sherri Olsen, Mark Denke, Wayne L. (Jeanne)
Nielsen, Clark R.(Anita) Nielsen, 20 grandchildren and
soon to be 40 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday,
March 8, 2008 at the Allen- Hall Mortuary. A viewing
will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at
the Allen-Hall Mortuary and prior to services on
Saturday from 9:30 to10:30 AM. Interment will be in
the Hyrum City Cemetery in Hyrum, Utah. Condolences
may be sent to the family at Allen Mortuaries.
