Wayne Clark Hickenlooper
Wayne Clark Hickenlooper, beloved husband, father,
grandfather (Papa), brother, uncle and friend, bigger
than life, brighter than the North Star, our hero and
the wind beneath our wings, stepped into eternity,
Sunday, November 14, 2004.
He was born on November 5, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, the
son of Clark and Ida Hickenlooper. His mother preceded
him in death. He married the love of his life, Carole
Ann Fisher, in the Logan Temple on December 14, 1962.
His wife, his children and their spouses remain to
carry on the rich family traditions he established:
Carole Ann; Annie (Mike Brian), Bart (Amy Chaplin),
Bret (Missy Petty), Erik (Amie Hancock) and Jed
(Carrie Plotkin). Wayne adored his 15 grandchildren
(adding a new grandson in December). Maddie, Collin,
Alayna, Ryker, Charlie, Jack, William, Henry, Scott,
Shane, Paige, Rachel, Ellie, Aubrey, and Ben.
He loved his sisters, Carol Ferguson (Blaine), Connie
Harmsten (Doug), Vera Wright (Mel) and Judy Marsh
(Steve) and many nieces and nephews.
He found joy in the smallest things in our world. He
fed the birds, tended his flowers, made his yard a
park, went for walks in the woods, and found humor in
the world the best medicine of all. He loved music,
the arts, literature and the gospel. These are eternal
gifts he left his family. His missionary service in
Norway is legendary. Our lives have been richly
blessed as he walked among us. We will miss you Wayne.
“Till we meet again.”
