Wayne “Snowy” Skabelund, 86, passed away peacefully at home August 6, 2004 in the same room at home he was born in. Wayne was born October 14, 1917 in Logan, Utah to John and Amanda Johnson Skabelund. He attended Logan city schools.

Wayne married Lois Schiffman on February 16, 1949 in Preston, Idaho. They have lived their entire married life in Logan.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 23rd Ward.

He was a well-known and respected roofing contractor in Cache Valley for more than fifty years. He was a very generous man and was a man of integrity.

Wayne loved fishing and hunting and spending time at his family cabin in Logan Canyon where he spent time in his early years.

He loved sports and was known in the valley softball program for many years. He loved the people of Mendon and had many happy memories of his time spent there in their softball program.

He is preceded in death by his two brothers and four sisters and two of his children, Connie Sue and John Skabelund.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, five sons, Dee Wayne, Brent (Janae), James W., Martin (Shelley), Vernon (Linda), one daughter, Kathy Olsen, all of Logan. He also raised and is survived by a stepdaughter, Kyrelynn Eldridge of Ogden. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at noon at Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel in Logan. A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2004 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. and from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the funeral on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
