Anita Hammond
Anita Hammond, 23, passed away April 10, 2004, at the
Logan Regional Hospital due to complications from
kidney failure. Anita was born in Logan on July 8,
1980, to Ronald and Susan Hislop Hammond.
Anita was a wonderful young woman who was admired for
her courage and
cheerfulness in spite of a lifetime of physical
problems.
Anita enjoyed writing poetry and being a good listener
to her many friends. She was an active participant in
the Relay for Life program and often helped with the
Primary Children's Radio Telethon.
She graduated from Logan High School, and LDS Seminary
in 1998, and attended Utah State University. She was
an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints.
At the age of 14, she began working at Spence's North
Pharmacy in 1994 "cleaning shelves," later working her
way up to be a Pharmacy Technician. Working at
Spence's brought a lot of fulfilment and joy to her
life. The family would like to express its thanks to
Spence Klomp for his unconditional love and support of
Anita.
She is survived by her parents; grandmother Edna
"Teddy" Nelson; sisters, Melissa (husband: Bruce)
Giddings, and Mikell; brother Brandon (wife: Charisa);
three nieces: Mackenzie, Rebecca, and Mary, and her
dog Harley, all of Logan; as well as a large extended
family and friends who loved her very much.
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday
April 17, 2004 at the Logan South Stake Center, 340
West 700 South. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8
p.m. on Friday, April 16, at the Allen Hall Mortuary,
34 East Center St., as well as, from 10:30 to 11 :30
a.m. at the Logan South Stake Center. Internment will
be held in the Logan City Cemetery.
In lieu of
flowers, donations are suggested to the Primary
Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake in her name.
Condolences may be expressed online at
Allen-Hall Mortuary.
We thank all of the doctors and nurses that cared for
her through her 20 years of surgeries and hospital
stays. Especially, most recently, Dr. Edward Redd and
Dr. Bruce O'very.
We will truly miss her spunk and playful teasing.
