Barbara Allen Breaux
Logan, Utah - Barbara Allen Breaux, 79, passed away
from complications of a stroke on August
3, 2003 at The Logan House Assisted Living.
Born January 15, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas to Pat and
Jewell Allen. She attended and
graduated from a Catholic boarding school in Dallas,
Texas. After two years of nurses training
she met and married a young naval aviator, Edgar Earl
Breaux on January 16, 1944. The were
married 47 years before he died on May 5, 1991.
As a military wife, she moved many times throughout
their marriage. Her love and life
long vocations was devoted to raising her six
children. She was a faithful member of the Roman
Catholic Church and had a special devotion to the
Blessed Mother and Saint Therese. She was
gifted with a beautiful voice and sang in the church
choir for many years.
In spite of tremendous challenges in her later years,
she left a legacy of unwavering faith in the
Lord and her church. In her final days she touched the
lives and hearts of many with her childlike
faith in God and her sweet smile.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosemary (Perry)
Thompson of Island Park, Idaho;
Suzanne Glasow of Fairfax, Virginia; Katie (George)
Whittle of North Logan, Utah; three sons,
Harry (Wendy) Breaux of Des Moines, Iowa; Richard
(Anna) of Peoria, Illinois and John
(Brenda) Breaux of West Jordan, Utah; 19 grandchildren
and 7 great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing for friends and family at the
Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420 East
1800 North, North Logan, on Sunday evening Aug. 10
from 7-8 p.m. followed by a Vigil
Service. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated
on Monday, Aug. 11, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at
the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 795 North 800
East, Logan.
Our family would like to express our heart felt
appreciation and gratitude to the staff of
the Logan House, Hospice of IHC, and the clergy of St.
Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for
their gentle and loving care of our mother during her
final days.
