Born Oct. 10, 1919, in Salt Lake City, to Lavon and W. Frank Winn. Died Oct. 24, 2003, in San Diego. Preceded in death by her husband, Malcom Rich Meacham; her sister, Carla Rae Coray; and her brother, Lathael (Buzz) Winn.

Surviving her is her youngest sister, Edith Winn Carpenter of San Diego, and many extended family members. She was a devoted sister, aunt and great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Received a bachelor of science degree from USU (1941) and a master of science degree from Northwestern (1943).

She worked at many newspapers across the nation including The Herald Journal. Then taught at Southwestern Oregon College from 1963 to 1981, when the Board of Education conferred Professor of English and Journalism Emeritus status upon her.

She was active with Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Daughters of the American Revolution, Republican Party and the Marshfield Sun, a newspaper/museum in Coos Bay, Ore. In lieu of flowers, Beni requested donations be made to the Marshfield Sun Association, P.O. Box 783, Coos Bay, OR 97420
