Logan, Utah: Coline Esther Smart Gudmundson, beloved wife and mother returned to the loving arms of her father in Heaven on Tuesday, June 17, 2003. She was born August 22, 1936 in Santa Monica, California to Ammon Nephi and Esther Dickerson Smart. She married B. Grant Gudmundson on February 15, 1955 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple.

She graduated from University High in West Los Angeles in 1954. During her early years she worked at the Granada Hills Hospital Newborn Nursery. She has lived in California and Utah. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in the Philippine/Micronesia area. She was a temple worker in the Logan Temple.

She is survived by her husband Grant, Logan; five sons and one daughter; Alan (Elizabeth), Cedar City, Utah; Brian (Debbie), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Daryl (Gayelene), Taylorsville, Utah; Mark (Kathryn), Logan; Steven (Jennifer), Idaho Falls, Idaho; Christine Higham (Dave), Logan; 29 grandchildren; her mother, Esther Smart, one sister, Antionette Morgan (Larry), both of Orem, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ammon Nephi Smart.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, June 20, 2003 in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center Street, where friends may call from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Perpetual Education Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
