Clyde Amiel Linder
Clyde Amiel Linder, 82, passed away on August 15, 2003
following a long illness. Born July 25, 1921 in Ft.
Lupton, CO, to Henry J. and Charlotte McCoy Linder.
He married Norma Hale, March 20, 1947 in the Logan LDS
Temple.
Clyde graduated from Ft. Lupton High School and Utah
State Agricultural College. Clyde taught school at
South Cache until he and Norma left Millville in 1957,
moving to Magna, Utah, where Clyde was an air traffic
controller. After his retirement in 1979, they
returned to Millville. He enjoyed public service, was
elected Mayor of Millville, Utah and served in many
positions in the LDS church.
Clyde and Norma worked
in the Logan Temple and then served a full-time
mission to Capetown, South Africa. They have been
involved in preserving the history of Millville by
assisting in compiling and publishing the Millville
history book and then building the Millville Museum.
After Norma’s death in 2000, Clyde married Juanita
Irene Dodge Kastanes and they made their home in Grass
Valley, CA.
He is survived by his eight children (one unofficially
adopted); Gordon (Linda) Linder, Garth (Bonnie)
Linder, Cheryl (Lee) Wessman, Osamu (Fumiko) Hoshino,
all of Salt Lake Valley. Kent (Alice) Linder, Tampa,
Fla., Kathryn (Sam) Fernandez, Hoffman Estates, Ill.,
Ramona (Jerald) Leishman and Rosalyn (Charlie) Munyan,
Cache Valley and one brother, Henry Earl Linder (Jean)
Grass Valley, Ca., his wife, Juanita, Grass Valley,
Ca., 5 step children, Steve Kastanes (Lu Dean) Tucson,
Az., Stephanie Linzy (J), Cape Coral, FL., Nick
Kastanes, Elk Grove, Ca., James Kastanes (Michelle),
and Stacey Brashear (Rick), both of Grass Valley, Ca.
Friends and family may call thursday evening, August
21, 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center
Street, Logan, and Friday, August 22, 10:00 to 11:30
a.m. at the Millville First Ward meetinghouse, 110 S.
Main, Millville. Funeral services will follow at
noon. Interment will be in Millville Cemetery.
