Edwin Sjostrom
Our father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother and friend, Edwin Hincks Sjostrom, 83, passed
away on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 in Ogden, Utah.
He was born February 11, 1920 in Logan, Utah, to
Oscar Sjostrom and Geneva Hincks.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints.
Edwin was a veteran of World War II where he
served in the US Army in the 461st Bombardment Group
(H) known as the Liberarders in Italy. Edwin had kept
in touch with several of his Army buddies all of these
years.
Edwin had worked and retired from Wangsgard
Heating and Appliance. He had a dairy and also farmed
in Lewiston, Utah prior to moving back to Logan, Utah.
After retiring, Edwin and his wife enjoyed going
camping and fishing. He enjoyed family get-
togethers. He was proud of his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
He is survived by the following children: Edwin
Rice Sjostrom and Kam of Taylor, Utah; Scott Michael
and Nancy Sjostrom of Price, Utah; Wendy and Mont
Thompson of Nibley, Utah; Utahna and Bill Moore of
Clearfield, Utah; Robert L. And June Hensley of Ogden,
Utah; L. Rodney and Robin Larsen of Gilbert, Arizona;
Darrell O. and Jeanne Larsen of Salt Lake City, Utah;
26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 5
great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris
McBride of Sevier, Utah; June Maxwell of Kearns, Utah;
and Colleen and Lee Hixon of Salt Lake City, Utah. He
was preceded in death by his parents, wifes, brother,
and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held at the Allen-Hall
Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., in Logan, Utah on Monday,
August 11, 2003 at 12 Noon. Friends may call at the
mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 10,
2003, and prior to the services beginning at 11:00 AM
at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Providence
City Cemetery.
The family gives a special thank you to the staff
of Wasatch Care Center for their kindness and
compassion shown to our father the last three months.
The family also would like to thank Dr. Seth
Lewis for his care and concern of Edwin the last three
and a half years.
