Ethel Stevens
TREMONTON, UTAH: Ethel Louella Allred Stevens, 101,
passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2004 at her home in
Tremonton, Utah.
She was born September 4, 1902 in Trenton, Utah a
daughter of Riley Ellis and Alice Ethel Wood Allred.
She married David Garn Stevens on December 28, 1925.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake
LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.
Ethel graduated in the first class from North Cache
High School and then attended Alions State Normal
School in Albion, Idaho and earned a teachers
certificate. She taught at a ranch school south of
Ely, Nevada and also in Burley, Idaho. She served as
a visiting teacher for many years, stake primary
chorister and teacher in the Mutual Improvement
Association. She sang with the Trenton Ward Singing
Mothers, Trenton Ward Choir and two years with the
Cedar City Choral Society while living there.. She
was an active member of the Utah Daughters of the
Pioneers for many years, Captain for two years and
chorister for many years. She lived most of her life
in the Cache Valley area and recently moved to
Tremonton.
She is survived by her children, Dale and Maria
Stevens of Eatonville, WA; Farrel and Bonnie Stevens
of Tremonton; Murray and Penny Stevens of Midvale and
Carolyn and Travis Littledike of West Jordan, 15
grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, five
great-great grandchildren, three nieces, three
nephews.. She was preceded in death by a son, Harvey
Dean, sisters, LaRita Glover, Pearl Spencer, Sylvia
Feltch, Wanda and a great grandson, Dallon Hawkins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am in
the Tremonton 5th Ward chapel, 300 South Tremont
Street. Friends may call at the church Wednesday
evening from 6:30 - 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:30
- 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery
following services. Arrangements by Allen-Hall
