PARADISE, UTAH: Florence Barnes James, 83 of Paradise, died Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Sunshine Terrace in Logan.

She was born September 11, 1920 in Raft River, Idaho a daughter of Herbert Claude and Annie Womack Barnes. She married Heber James on March 15, 1940. Their married was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She graduated from Logan High School and had worked at Del Monte, Whites Trout Farm and for EA Miller. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a primary teacher and sang in the ward choir. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, applique and cooking. She loved her grandchildren and was a good homemaker and mother.

She is survived by two sons, Paul and Mary James, West Valley, UT; Morgan James, Paradise; three daughters, Helen and Paul Epplich, North Ogden; Ila Beth and Wendell Rock, LaGrande, OR; Sheila and Garth Purser, Paradise; a daughter-in-law, Gayla James, Providence; two sisters, Dorothy and Orvis Haskell, Magna; Mae Larsen, Providence. She was preceded in death by two sons, Heber Jr. And David Garnell James, one granddaughter and a sister, Catherine Speth.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12:00 pm in the Paradise LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and at the church from 10:30 - 11:45 am on Saturday. Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery.
