In loving memory of our daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Fifita H. Pauni, 25, who passed away on November 11, 2003. She was born on August 5, 1978 in the Paradise Island of Tonga to her loving parents, Luisa E. Pauni and Samuela K. Afu.

Fifita was raised by her caring grandparents, Ana M. And the late Sione E. Pauni. Fifita was the youngest of 20 children. She also has 13 other brothers and sisters. Fifita migrated to the United States in May of 1982. She spoke both Tongan and English fluently.

Fifita pursued her education from early head start on to high school here in the valley and in Salt Lake City.

The master once said, “My daughter, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment, and then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high. My daughter, do not contend against thee.” With this thought in mind, Fifita chose to fight her heart disability courageously, without contending with anyone or anything. She endured her battle with high spirit and still having concern for the well being of others. Fifita is now at peace as she now returns to her Maker.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 11:00 AM in the Hyrum 6th Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, and prior to services on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
