CLARKSTON, UTAH: Glen W. Thompson, 100, of Clarkston, passed peacefully away at home on Monday, December 22, 2003.

He was born November 6, 1903 in the family home at Clarkston to Isaiah and Letitia G. Thompson, he was the 6th of 10 children. He attended Cache County schools and played basketball at North Cache High School and Brigham Young College in Logan. On October 16, 1929 he married Melba Allen of Wellsville in the Logan LDS Temple. They shared 69 happy years together until her death on August 2, 1998. Glen worked on his farm until he was 85 years old. He also worked as Postmaster, a carpenter at Hill Air Force Base, the Garland Sugar Factory and at Thiokol. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several bishoprics, high priest group leader. Because of his skill as financial clerk he served for 25 years under five bishops. He served in various auxiliaries and sang in the ward choir until he was 96 years old. His interest include creation and memorization of verse, poetry and song. He is a wonderful father and grandfather who was deeply devoted to his family. We loved him very much.

He is survived by four children, Shirleen and Denzel Clark; Beth and Vinson Williams; Venna Godfrey ; Norman and Karen Thompson, 19 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Kate Zundel and Maxine Breustle, Ogden. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and six sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff nurses and aides of Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 1:00 pm in the Clarkston LDS Chapel with a viewing two hours prior to services. Interment will be in the Clarkston Cemetery. Arrangements by Allen-Hall Mortuary, Logan.
