Jerry Wayne Maughan
NIBLEY, UTAH: Jerry Wayne Maughan, 54, beloved
husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend
died on Friday, July 2, 2004 due to complications from
a stroke surrounded by loved ones.
Jerry was born November 11, 1949 in Logan, Utah a son
of Marvin Edwards and Gene LaVon Walker Maughan. He
married Charlene Schenk in the Logan LDS Temple on
July 3, 1970. She preceded him in death on April 2,
1995. He married Lucy Nelsen in the Logan LDS Temple
on March 1, 1996.
He made many friends in his life through his work at
Moores, involvement with the Mountain Crest Marching
Band, Golden Spike Bikers and all those who were
blessed by his helping hands.
Jerry was loved for his kindness, generosity, soft
spoken words and genuine love for all his fellow men.
He was his children’s biggest fan, supporting them in
all they did.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Maughan of Nibley;
daughters, Hillary and Steve Lund, Montpelier, Idaho;
Jenny and Dave Pitcher, Indianapolis, Indiana; Shannon
and Shawn Gooch, Hyrum; sons, James and Jonathan
Maughan, Nibley; step-children, Joshua and JaLynn May
, Smithfield; Jessica and Joe Panter, Twin Falls,
Idaho; Jacob May, Smithfield; 10 grandchildren. He is
also survived by his mother, LaVon Maughan, three
sisters, Darla and Thomas Moore, Wellsville; Wendy and
Terry Lund, Ephriam; Sheila and Steve Jensen, Clinton,
Missouri. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife,
Charlene, father, Marvin, sister, Marva Lund, brother,
Kelly Maughan.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at
12:00 pm in the Nibley 6th Ward chapel, 3900 West 3200
South. Friends may call Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at
the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan and at the church
from 10:00 - 11:30 am. Interment will be in the
Providence Cemetery.
