Jon Earl Miles
WELLSVILLE, UTAH: Jon Miles, 47, passed away
peacefully at home Tuesday May 13, 2003, surrounded by
his family. Jon was born in Logan, UT, on March 3,
1956. As was Jon's way, he used his courageous battle
with a brain tumor to teach his family, friends and
loved ones the value of life, love and holding those
dear to you close.
After serving a two-year mission to Japan, Jon married
his best friend Debbie Parkinson in the Ogden LDS
Temple on November 3, 1977. They shared 25 beautiful
years together. Their lives were blessed with two
wonderful sons, Riley and Taylor.
After graduating from Utah State University, Jon's passion for life and
adventure took he and his family back to Japan where
they spent six exciting years. After returning to
Cache Valley, Jon and his family made their home in
Wellsville, where he served his family, friends and
church.
Jon is survived by his wife Debbie, his sons Riley and
Taylor, his parents Donette and Al Southard, and David
and Carol Miles, his sisters Paulette (Chris)
Mortensen, Jeanne (Tony) Hutson, Deann Pruitt, and a
loving extended family. Jon was preceded in death by
his brother Craig, his Nephew Jeremy, and his
grandparents.
One of Jon's most fervent wishes was to extend his
heartfelt thanks and love to all of the family,
friends and care givers who supported, cared for and
loved him throughout his life. And now, as Jon would
say, "The adventure begins...”
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2003
