Lorna M. Hall
HYRUM - Lorna Hill Myers Hall, 88, passed away on
Monday, May 12,2003 at the home of her daughter,
RaNae, in Smithfield, where she had been residing for
the past two years.
She was born in Wellsville, Utah, on May 26, 1914 to
Abraham Wyatt Myers and Neoma Poppleton Hill. She
lived in Wellsville as a child where she attended
elementary school, and later South Cache High school.
She lived in Grace, Idaho for a short time before her
marriage to William J. Hall on June 4, 1936 in the
Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Hyrum where
they raised their six children. During their 57 years
of marriage they enjoyed camping, traveling, going on
vacations, and serving a temple mission for six months
in their later years.
Lorna was an active member of the LDS church serving
as a primary teacher as well as a visiting teacher for
many years. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed
having family get-togethers at her home. She was a
great cook, and was known for the beautiful afghans
and quilts she made. She enjoyed working in her flower
gardens, and spent many hours reading books. She loved
children, especially her own grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all
who knew her.
She is survived by one son and four daughters, Stan Hall
(Janet) of Smithfield, RaNae Richards (Rod) of
Smithfield, Karen Wickham (LaMoine) of Logan, Laura
Stapley (Paul) of West Valley City, and Rhonda Pitcher
(Dale) of Hyde Park; 23 grandchildren, and 41
great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister
Helen Myers, of Grace, Idaho, and a brother Harvey A.
Myers of Umatilla, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,
one daughter, Juanita Appel, two grandsons, Scott
Wickham, and Robbie -grandson, Scott Wood, and three
sisters, Merle Herre, Ethel Egbert, and Lucy Myers.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, May
17, 2003 in the Hyrum 8th Ward , 595 South 200 East,
with Bishop Charles James Graham conducting. Friends
may call Friday, May 16, from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall
Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, and at the church
prior to services from 10:30 to 11:45. Interment will
be at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be donated to
the Hyrum City Library in her name. Online
