Luane O. Larsen
HYRUM, UTAH: - Luane Odell Larsen, 75, died at his
home Feb. 4, 2004, after waging a valiant fight
against pancreatic cancer.
Luane was born in Hyrum on May 31, 1929, to Gamel and
Virginia Nielsen Larsen. He graduated from South Cache
High School and attended Utah State Agricultural
College. He served overseas for the U.S. Army in
1946-1947.

Logan. They were later sealed for time and eternity in
the Logan LDS Temple on March 5, 1954. They had two

Luane worked many odd jobs and eventually retired from

service. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints and served in many church
callings. He was a member of the original Hyrum City
volunteer fire department and organized the original

Those who knew and loved Luane will remember him as a
hard worker and loving family man. He would drop
everything to help comfort another or make a person
feel loved. He was not only a grandpa and
great-grandpa to his posterity but a father figure and
primary male role model for many of them as well. His
family will cherish memories of fishing adventures,
long road trips, treats and pocket change that found
its way into children's pockets after each visit,
listening to stories of his adventures and jokes
shared with Grandpa.
