Lenora Phillips
Lenora Phillips, age 88, passed away September 17,
2003 in Logan, Utah from natural causes at the
Sunshine Terrace. She was born February 5, 1915 in
Smithfield, Utah. She was the daughter of Joseph and
Tempe Meikle.
She is remembered by many as “Mickie”. She had many
friends and was active in Logan’s LDS First Ward for
over 60 years. Her hobbies included gardening,
knitting, travel and making people happy. She was
physically very active hiking and walking into her mid
eighties. During the period of her life raising two
sons, her house was always full of their friends. Many
of these friends considered Lenora as a “second
mother”. Many years after, many of them would still
drop in for a visit.
Lenora was divorced and raising two sons, when she
met Clarence (White) Peterson. They were married in
September 1942. She helped run the family business
(Model Billiards) for over twenty years until
Clarence’s death in 1960. She married Robert Phillips
in 1991 and spent 11 wonderful years with Robert until
he passed away September 2002. They were both active
in the Logan First Ward and as Temple workers.
She is survived by two sons, Hal (Lucy Delgado)
Crownsville, Maryland and Bruce (Nancy), Murray, Utah;
a brother, Frank, Idaho Falls, Idaho and a sister,
Iris, Provo, Utah; five grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Sunshine
Terrace for the loving care during the last months of
Lenora’s life.
